OJH Takes Top Prize in One Act Play District Contest
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the Olney Junior High One Act Play had its district competition in Archer City. The junior high OAP performance of “One Stoplight Town” won the district championship for the second year in a row.
Lauren Sullivan, the director of the One Act Play, said it tells the tale of living in a small town and needing to enjoy it while it lasts.
“Sometimes we try to run from our small town life, but often we are drawn back because of the love we feel in this place,” Sullivan said. “We all realize how important the people in our community are and often make decisions based on how these people make us feel.”
Sullivan also said that she and Erik Cuba, assistant director, are pleased with their cast and crew this year, stating that they worked well together.
Individual awards were Outstanding Technical Crew (Farrah Keeter, Caroline Jeske, Kate Santibanez, and Pace Hargis); Best Lights - Hargis; Honorable Mention All-Star Cast - Magnolia Caffey and Emerald Edgington; and All-Star Cast - Leigha Hampton.
Good job to these kids!
