OPD Arrests Parolee on Drug Charges
An Olney man already serving a sentence of community supervision for prostituting a teenager is back behind bars after a major drug and weapons bust last weekend.
Jordan Michael Grayson, 31, was arrested Sunday, Sept. 14, after fleeing from Olney officers in a black Chevy Impala that failed to stop at a designated point and ran two stop signs in a residential neighborhood, Police Chief Autumn Thames said.
Officers stopped him at the Shell station on Main Street. A probable cause search turned up $1,300 in cash, 123 grams of THC, more than 5 ounces of marijuana, 45 grams of cocaine, 66 grams of methamphetamine, 13 grams of Xanax, and a handgun. As a convicted felon, Grayson is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was charged with manufacture and delivery of narcotics, felon in possession of a firearm, and evading arrest. He is being held in the Young County Jail without bail.
“Good job on the two officers who worked this together and got this bust,” Chief Thames said. “They did an excellent job.”
Earlier this year, Mr. Grayson pleaded guilty to Promote Prostitution of a Person Younger Than 18 and was sentenced to 10 years of community supervision and a $3,000 fine. The plea followed a 2023 investigation that began when a 13-yearold Wichita Falls girl was reported missing. Police found her at an Olney apartment and discovered messages linking her to Mr. Grayson through social media.
According to court records, the girl told investigators she had communicated with Mr. Grayson on Instagram under the name “bigmikemike817,” used drugs and alcohol at his apartment, and exchanged sexually explicit images.
Police said messages showed Mr. Grayson soliciting the girl to sell nude photos and engage in sexual activity for money.
Mr. Grayson also has a prior conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, for which he was paroled in January 2021.
