
Fight at Allsup’s Lands Dallas Man in Jail
For the second time in 10 days, the Olney Police Department responded to an arrest at the Allsup’s gas station on 401 W. Main Street, this time involving a domestic disturbance that escalated into an assault.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Officers arrived to find a domestic-related assault involving four individuals, including a woman, her partner, her ex-partner, and her father, according to Interim Olney Police Chief Autumn Thames. After investigating at the scene, the ex-partner, from the Metroplex, was taken into custody on a charge of Assault – Family Violence involving the woman and her partner, without further incident. The woman had called her father, who lives in Olney, to the scene, Chief Thames said.
The victim sustained minor injuries, was offered medical attention, and has been connected with appropriate victim support services.
“Domestic violence is a serious crime, and our department is committed to supporting victims and holding offenders accountable,” Chief Thames said in a statement.
The arrested individual was booked into the Young County Jail and faces formal charges. No names were released, in order to protect the victim’s privacy.
Thames also thanked the Young County Sheriff ’s Office, the Young County Precinct 3 Constable, Texas Game Wardens, and the Archer County Sheriff ’s Office for their assistance in responding to the call.
Police reminded the public that anyone experiencing domestic violence should reach out to local resources or contact law enforcement for immediate help.
The Aug. 19 arrest follows an earlier arrest at the same gas station on Aug. 10, highlighting what has become a busy month for police response at the high-traffic convenience store.
