Archer & Gunn Fetes Artist Christen Horner at Reception

Archer & Gunn Mercantile hosts meet and greet for new Olney resident and artist Christen Horner. Mrs. Horner moved to Olney with husband Dr. John Horner, Olney’s newest physician, and children Jacob, Brennan and Lauren. The family moved to Olney from Llano, Texas.

Mrs. Horner embraced painting in her junior year of high school when an art teacher noticed her interest, gave her canvas and paint and nurtured her talent. After taking a hiatus, Mrs. Horning began painting and creating art about 18 years ago and has been refining her technique and growing ever since.

Mrs. Horner’s professional art career began with painting porch signs, she said, because she was at first nervous about painting for commission because she had not taken any formal classes for art since high school.

The porch signs led to more confidence and eventually creating commissioned artwork. Mrs. Horner said she enjoys painting and sketching western lifestyle art the most but has a wide array of styles to draw on for commissioned work.

For more information on this new talented local artist, please visit Archer & Gunn Mercantile 122 E Main St, Olney, TX, where some of her art is on display and for sale or visit the artist’s website at christenhornerart.com.

Welcome to Olney!
