Kept Blameless Before God

Kept Blameless Before God

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,” Jude 1:24 NASBS

Beloved Christian, This morning my heart was stirred with deep joy as I meditated on the sovereign grace of God. This grace—rooted in His eternal, unchanging purpose— was set before the foundation of the world. Though it rises far above our finite understanding, it is no less real. It is a truth revealed in God’s eternal decrees and one we are called to embrace by faith.

Jude, the half-brother of our Lord, writes to a struggling church and closes his letter with this glorious doxology: “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”

Here is our confidence: God, through the effectual work of His Son, who called us to salvation, will never leave us nor forsake us. He will carry us through this life and bring us safely into His eternal kingdom. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”

But with such a high calling comes a holy responsibility. We must not neglect the discipline of repentance or the pursuit of God through earnest prayer. I know how quickly the hours pass and how full each day becomes—yet let us make prayer our priority. Let us seek His face, asking Him to go before us and prepare our hearts for the sacred labor of evangelism. Oh, that by His grace we might be vessels fit for His use—to snatch souls from the flames of eternal judgment, even as we keep our own garments unstained from the corruption that surrounds us.

Christian, ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your heart to behold Calvary. Look to the suffering Savior, pierced for your sins. Behold His body, torn open by the taskmaster’s whip. Do you see the crimson blood? His flesh was lacerated to the bone, His beard torn out, a crown of thorns crushed into His brow. His tears mix with dust, and anguish jolts through every part of His body. Listen—He prays even then, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing,” as He hangs exposed and humiliated while a jeering crowd mocks Him. This is the Son of God, bearing the full weight of sin for all whom He would call to Himself.

May the Holy Spirit stir our hearts with the awful reality of eternal judgment that looms over the lost. Let this truth move us to intercede for them with urgency and compassion. Oh, that the ears of our hearts would hear the cries of unrepentant souls, who enter eternity only to face the full weight of the law against them—condemned, without excuse, before a holy God. Apart from Jesus Christ, this law condemns every one of us, and our own consciences testify daily to the shame of hidden thoughts we conceal in our own hearts. These alone make us worthy of divine justice at the final judgment.

Therefore, beloved, let us run our race with purpose—being intentional with every moment. Let us honor God by pulling back the veil that blinds the eyes of the lost, so they might behold Jesus Christ crucified in their place. Let us boldly proclaim to them the full counsel of the gospel of God, reflecting on our own redemption with tears of joy streaming down our faces as we remember the mercy that found us while we were enemies opposing this eternal King. Oh, that we would fall more in love with Him each moment, gladly giving our whole lives for His name’s sake.
