OISD Welcomes Teachers, Staff, New Leaders Back for 2025-26 School Year

The halls of Olney Independent School District are buzzing once again as teachers and staff return to campus to prepare for the start of the new school year on Aug. 13. Classrooms are being decorated, lesson plans finalized, and registration underway as the district welcomes students back for what promises to be an exciting year of growth and change.

This year brings several new faces to OISD’s leadership team. Dr. Matt Caffey has joined the district as its new superintendent, bringing fresh vision and experience to guide the schools forward. At Olney High School, Haley Haralson takes over as principal, ready to lead faculty and students into a new year of academic success. Meanwhile, the Cubs football program welcomes back alumnus Dustin Altmiller as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, combining hometown pride with more than a decade of coaching experience.

In addition to new leadership, OISD is making visible progress on several construction projects, including new classrooms and a stateof- the-art storm shelter with storm hardening improvements designed to keep students safe.

Teachers and staff are also busy helping students and parents with registration and ensuring that families are ready for the first day. From arranging school supplies to setting up welcoming classroom environments, educators are laying the groundwork for a successful year. The Enterprise invites the community to join in welcoming its teachers, staff, and new leaders back to campus and looks forward to a year filled with learning, achievement, and school pride.
