

Amity Club Meets in April, Elects Officers
Amity Club met Thursday, April 3 at the home of Jeanie Spivey. President Carolyn Penn called the meeting to order and the club collect was read. The roll was called and minutes read by Margie Snyder. Committee chairmen reported their business.
The Membership Committee consisting of Gail Spears, Judy Moberly, Phyllis Whitsitt and Margie Snyder put up three new members.
The Nominating Committee had the list of officers for the upcoming year. They were all voted and approved.
They are: President, Donna Sullivan; 1st Vice President, Carol Vorel; 2nd Vice President, Judy Moberly; Recording Secretary, Margie Snyder; Corresponding Secretary, Marilyn Norris; Treasurer, Phyllis Whitsitt; and Reporter, Judy Averett.
President Penn turned the meeting over to Margie Snyder, program leader. Grace Care Center’s social director, Laurie Veitenheimer, gave a presentation on mental health focusing on elders. She called the program, State of Mind. The program was interactive and enjoyable by all.
Ms. Veitenheimer passed out pamphlets and books focusing on hobbies, healthy eating and staying active.
The meeting was adjourned for refreshments served by hostess Jeanie Spivey along with Lucretia Taylor, Phyllis Whitsitt, and Judy Averett.
Judi Winslow was presented with a plaque of the club collect.
