OHS TMSCA Wins State Contest

Congratulations to the High School TMSCA Mathematics Team of Aidyn Bitner, Caleb Johnson, Jeffry Flores, Adrian Gonzalez, Braelyn Casteel, Darla Castillo, Sophie Roach, Mackenzie Berngen, and Shaine Grard who placed first at a statewide meet in San Antonio Saturday March 15. This is a yearly invitational meet prior to UIL District meets with top schools from around the state attending.

The team consists of Aidyn Bitner, (12th grade Number Sense 2nd, Calculator 1st, Mathematics 2nd,), Caleb Johnson (12th grade Calculator 6th,) Jeffry Flores (11th grade Calculator 3rd),( Adrian Gonzalez (11th grade Mathematics 6th) Braelyn Casteel (10th grade Calculator 6th, 10th grade Mathematics 5th) Darla Castillo (10th grade Mathematics 4th) Sophie Roach (10th grade Number Sense 3rd, 10th grade Calculator 1st, 10th grade Mathematics 1st). Mackenzie Berngen (9th grade Number Sense 4th) The Number Sense team (Bitner, Roach, Gonzalez, and Johnson placed 4th, the Calculator Team (Bitner, Flores, Roach, and Johnson placed 3rd, the Mathematics Team of Bitner, Gonzalez, Flores, and Roach placed 4th, and the Science Team of Bitner, Johnson, Flores, and Gonzalez placed 5th. Overall Olney placed first out of 15 1A and 2A schools attending.
