OAP in rehearsal for District contest in Olney
The Olney Junior High One Act Play, “All I Really Need to Know, I Learned From Being in a Bad Play” by Werner Trieschmann, has been rehearsing since Aug. 26 and has held two public performances leading up to their district competition in Olney on Nov. 20 at 4 p.m.
“This play about auditioning for and being cast in a ‘bad play’ is a humorous take on how ‘traumatic’ it is to put on a performance and all the lessons we learn in doing so,” Lauren Sullivan, director, said Cast members include: Leigha Hampton, Trent Berngen, Miles Branum, Ella Richards, Harris Sullivan, Grace Jeske, Pace Hargis, Emerald Edgington, Laney Kimbro, Odin Savard, Denalee Wales, Chloe McPhie, Melissa Melchor, Keela King, Izriel Rodriguez, Samuel Ickert, and Clara Symank. Alternate cast members are: Janie Sykora, and Caroline Stewart. Crew members are: Farrah Keeter, Trey Geter, and Pedro Gonzales. Alternate crew members are: Reed Jones, and Christopher McElroy.
“The cast is made up of 20 cast and four crew that have worked very hard to ‘pull this turkey together” Mrs Sullivan said.
The public was invited to the auditorium to view the competition show.
“We invite everyone to come have a good laugh at how crazy the world of theatre actually is behind the scenes,” Mrs. Sullivan said. “Contest will be on Nov. 20, and we will perform at about 4 pm. However, this will be on a rolling schedule, so get there early!”
