Amity Club welcomes Pastor Edgington

First Baptist Church Pastor Chad Edgington spoke to members of the Amity Club of Olney on Nov. 7 about his new morning radio show, “The Wake Up Call with Chad & Friends,” the first locally-produced show on Olney’s debut radio station, Positive Country 104.3 FM KBVP.

Broadcasting with a reach spanning Archer City, Wichita Falls, and into southern Oklahoma, the morning radio show brings local news, interviews, and devotions to a broad audience every weekday at 7:20 a.m.

KBVP’s owners, who bought the station license from the FCC for $40,000, decided to focus on local programming and tapped Dr. Edgington to host the morning slot.

While initially unsure about the early-morning commitment, Dr. Edgington ultimately agreed, citing a desire to expand his ministry beyond church walls.

“We are always talking about getting outside the walls of the church,” he said, explaining that he saw the radio show as a way to reach residents as they commute, work, or go about their day.

In addition to his weekday devotionals, Dr. Edgington incorporates interviews with local figures, community news, and trivia into each show. He aims to attract at least 300 daily listeners—about 10 percent of Olney’s population—and has already hosted guests such as Olney library director Lori Cox, Police Chief Dan Bir- beck, and school superintendent Dr. Greg Roach.

Dr. Edgington’s show also includes a rotating cast of co-hosts, including youth pastor Jaden Brisco and local business owner Reed Miller. Residents are encouraged to drop in during the show to share news or insights on air at their glass-walled studio on Main Street.

Listeners can tune in by streaming the show on their phones through PositiveRadio.net, and Dr. Edgington welcomes community sponsorships to help support the program. He encourages anyone interested in providing local information or sponsoring to contact him directly at 940-2508273.
