Cubs host the Tigers in first home game
It’s the time of year that most Texans love: high school football under the Friday Night Lights.
For the first home game of the season, the Olney Cubs hosted the Electra Tigers. The Cubs are still learning an entirely new offensive and defensive program and it showed during their match up.
The Cubs fell to the Tigers, 54-13 and dropped to 0-3 for the season.
The Tigers ran up the scoreboard as the Cubs played with grit and determination, failing to stop the Tigers in the air and on the ground.
The Cubs moved to a spread offense and a four-man front on defense under new Head Coach Chris Tobola. The new systems are a smart move to secure future successful seasons for the Cubs. On offense, a spread will open up the passing game and make it harder for defenders to interrupt plays.
A four-man front on defense will allow the Cubs to defend against many offensive systems. The Cubs are learning this new system and it will just be rough going until they become confident on the new systems.
Fight on, Cubs!
