Olney Cub Center hosts breakfast contest
The Young County Olney Senior Cub Center has become a very popular hot spot in Olney over the last couple years as Cub Center Director Angela Lockard and Activity Director Candy Blair have transformed the Cub Center from a Senior Center into a Community Center.
The Cub Center still hosts many programs to help seniors like regular blood testing, activities, lunch and Meals on Wheels, but now offers weekly activities all ages can enjoy.
Recently, the Cub Center hosted a breakfast contest that quickly caught on and looks to become a regular event for the Cub Center.
Attendees brought in breakfast items, and those attending could purchase a breakfast pass for just $1 to sample the offerings. Later, the breakfast dishes were judged by Olney EMS and Olney Police Department members, with the person who cooked the best dish winning bragging rights and about $50 in cash.
The winner of the first Cub Center Breakfast Contest was Terri Hayter with delicious breakfast burgers.
Congratulations, Terri!
Winners for the Cub Center breakfast contest included runner-up Cub Center Director Angela Lockard with loaded biscuits and gravy, and winner Terri Hayter with breakfast burgers, winning almost $50 and bragging rights.
