Lady Cubs maul the Lady Pirates

The Lady Cubs hosted the Perrin-Whitt Lady Pirates in a five-game series. The Lady Cubs fell to the Lady Pirates 3-2 but it was a knock-down street fight.

The Lady Cubs let the Lady Pirates know they would not lie down even after some remarks were made at the net by Lady Pirate players who suggested the ref let the Lady Cubs have a disputed point because they “would need it.”

This reporter was shocked at the unsportsmanlike comments I heard at the net.

The Lady Cubs did not bite on the taunts but used the Lady Pirates’ words as fuel. This was one of the most exciting Lady Cubs volleyball games I have seen since the program began just a few short years ago. These Lady Cubs played with heart, pride, grit and as a cohesive team.

Fight on, Lady Cubs! You have my respect.
