Hinson, Spears reappointed to YCAD, OHA boards

The Olney City Council reappointed Sanford Heard and Valerie Stroud to the Olney Housing Authority Board of Directors, and reappointed Kyle Hinson to the Young County Appraisal District Board. Mr. Heard and Ms. Stroud were unanimously approved by the Council for new two-year terms.

Mr. Hinson, who also sits on the Olney Independent School District Board of Trustees, was nominated last month to fill a vacancy left by the departure of Jake Bailey, who also was the OISD Board of Trustees president. That term was set to expire this month, Mayor Rue Rogers said. Mr. Hinson was nominated to the YCAD board by the Olney Hamilton Hospital and OISD boards as well, Mayor Rogers said.

“I talked to the school and hospital and both of them are planning to appoint Kyle Hinson and my recommendation would be we do the same,” Mayor Rogers said. “At the same time we want to make sure we have a representative from within the City of Olney representing the City, the hospital and the school board at YCAD. He is set up to be our advocate over at YCAD.”
