Bowers qualifies for state at Regional track meet

The Olney Cubs and Lady Cubs traveled to Springtown to compete in the UIL regional track meet on April 28-29, with Jaylee Bowers advancing to state.

Bowers placed first in the 100-meter hurdle prelims with a time of 16.27 and second in the finals with a time of 15.60. Those results qualify her for the State meet in Austin on May 12.

Abby Guerra placed fifth in the high jump for field events with a 5-00 jump. Luis Castillo also made it to regionals to compete in high jump.

In the running events, Camron Mc-Comack placed ninth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.90. Bowers placed 13th in prelims with a time of 53.34 in the 300-meter hurdles.
