Library offers classes in computer, internet basics
Olney Community Library will be offering a computer course for senior citizens and other members of the community who need to learn basic computer skills, internet basics (including email and social media), and other digital literacy topics. The class will be taught by Dale Lovett and Lori Cox using the Northstar Digital Literacy curriculum.
“We are excited to be able to bring this digital literacy class to the Library at this time,” said Lori Cox, Library Director. “Our board has been looking for things to bring to the community that would benefit our patrons most. We want our senior citizens and others to be confident and safe while using computers and searching the internet. It is very important that everyone be able to manage their digital footprint in this day and age.”
For those interested in taking this course, an informational meeting will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 10 am at the library at 807 W. Hamilton St. The curriculum calls for 8-10 classes, but the instructors could conduct as many as 12, Mrs. Cox said.
