“Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me. ” Psalm 119: 133 NASBS

Dear Reader, If you are a Christian, an eternal heir of heaven, one who has placed his faith completely upon Jesus Christ for salvation, may the grace of God bring you to a place of deep examination. How easy it is for the enticements of this fallen world to penetrate the mind, to prey upon your lust, and to lead you down a path that is unprofitable for your soul. My brothers and sisters, it is here the battle begins, that is, to know the craftiness of Satan and the deceitfulness of your own hearts. The enemy’s desire is to destroy you, but the word of God has equipped you for this battle. So like a valiant warrior press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. In other words, as Christians, we are to pursue holiness above all things as we live, and act, and have our being here in this world. Since Christ proves His love for us in this: that while we were yet sinners He died for us, how much more then, should we be willing to serve Him in obedience? Come now beloved of God, look upon Calvary’s tree and see the Lord being crucified on your behalf. Gaze upon the lacerations on His broken body as He drinks the cup of God’s wrath to save you from your sins. Ask yourself, is he not worth your all in all?

My soul, search yourself this morning to see whether you are guilty of double- dealing. Is your heart truly right with God, or do you have some secret sin you covet above His love? Charles Spurgeon wrote, “To have one foot on the land of truth, and another on the sea of falsehood, will involve a terrible fall and a total ruin. Christ will be all or nothing. God fills the whole universe, and hence there is no room for another god; if, then, he reigns in my heart, there will be no space for another reigning power.” Fight the good fight and lay hold of the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not let the deceitfulness of sin lead you away. Present yourself to God as a living sacrifice, for sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. May the Lord constantly bring you reminders to examine your heart so you do not bring a reproach upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. May the cry of your heart be, “Oh Lord, Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me. Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law And keep it with all my heart.”
