Sr. Cub Center hosts Olney Chamber Luncheon

The Young County Senior Cub Center hosted the Olney Chamber of Commerce for its quarterly luncheon featuring keynote speaker Kathryn Hager from Ramble and Company of Wichita Falls. The Cub Center played host to a mix of regular Cub Center attendees and OCC members. Attendees enjoyed a Mexican-style lunch and good company as Ms. Hager discussed the small business marketing strategies she offers her clients.

“I coach and do marketing presentations, primarily with smaller communities,” she said. “I graduated high school from Petrolia with a degree from [Midwestern State University] in marketing and I really just market to Chambers like this.”

Angela Lockard, director of the Olney Senior Cub Center, stressed the need for more community engagement with the center. The Cub Center is one of the most inexpensive places to dine in town, at $6 a meal for non-seniors and $4 for seniors, and frequenting the center twice a week could help immensely, she said. The Center also offers the option of purchasing meal vouchers for loved ones or as a convenient way to pay for multiple meals. The vouchers are a great gift idea, and a way to ensure that seniors get nutritious, filling meals while enjoying the company of other seniors. The vouchers also are available for businesses to gift to employees and as a way to support the Center, she said.
