Chamber members gathered at Archer & Gunn Mercantile for networking event

The Olney Chamber of Commerce held its first Networking Night of 2022 at Archer and Gunn Mercantile Thursday, March 3. The Chamber members that sponsored the event included Don’s Butane & Olney Fuel and Supply Co. , LB Business Services and Rockin’ L Land Services. Local disc jockey and new Chamber member Chris Garcia, also known as DJ Rad Dad, provided the entertainment.

The purpose of our Networking Nights is to provide a relaxed and casual environment for our members to come together and get to know one another. It’s a good place to find out which businesses have emerged in the community and what other existing businesses may be doing. It’s also a fun place to catch up with those you may not see on a regular basis.

The Chamber is growing, and we are seeing a slight increase in memberships this year compared to 2021. This year, we have three new businesses—3T Meats owned by Wacey and Laci Tate, Rockin’ L Land Services owned by Eric Loggins, and Rebel Soul Mercantile owned by Katie Carls. We are so excited to have these new businesses join the Chamber and want to do everything to help them thrive. Along with these three businesses, we have had existing members renew and have already filled almost half of our sponsorships for the year. If you are interested in joining the Chamber, individuals can join for only $50 per year - this membership gets you into all our events and helps fund all of those great community events that we host throughout the year. Your membership would be greatly appreciated!

The next event will be our first quarterly luncheon of 2022—we will set the date and location later. In April, we will host the spring citywide yard sale Saturday, April 2. If you want to put your address on the sale map, please call 940-564-5445 or email olneytxchamber@gmail.com. There is also an online form you may access from the event page on Facebook. The following day, April 3, we will have the Easter bunny hop from 12-2 p.m. at the downtown gazebo for photos ($5 per child or $10 per family.) We will also get a food truck to come out that day for those that might choose to have lunch downtown Olney.

The following weekend, the Olney Chamber and Keep Olney Beautiful will be attending Crawfish and Cannons at Fort Belknap. We will be selling drinks to raise funds for both organizations. We are really excited to be a part of this event and hope to see everyone out there!
