“Judged”

Been busy all week with events and decided to turn on Survivor on Amazon Prime to listen to in the background. I am currently re-watching all seasons of Survivor. Started my workload early this morning around 5 or 6 am in the hopes of getting caught up before the weekend. So, working, working, working as well as watching or listening, Prime does this little thing from time to time that I feel is just plain judgmental! When I am watching for too long it either thinks I fell asleep, walked off, been watching way too much TV or who knows what!

To be perfectly honest, it is usually because I have been watching way too much TV, but it got me thinking, why do so many people judge others for their actions or habits? I am guilty of this from time to time and generally catch myself and correct myself, thinking, who am I to judge?

I watch a lot of TV. Someone else may read too much, if that’s a thing, others may play video games a great deal, some spend 4 hours at the gym every other day, which I used to do when I was a strapping young buck, but who am I or you to judge what is a bad or good habit? Put simply, it is not our job to judge anyone. If you break man’s law, you will be judged by your peers or a judge. Depending on the law you broke, you will need forgiveness from God’s judgment. God’s judgment is just that and all will be judged by God whether you believe in God or not. All can have forgiveness with a few short heartfelt prayers as well.

Why is me watching 4 hours of TV considered any worse than reading a book or going for a ride on a bike? Everyone has things they do to occupy their time; one is not worse than the other as long as we are not breaking God’s or Man’s law. This is not to say that the things we spend our time on may be healthier than other things we choose to spend time doing. I think we could all do a better job at judging others less and focusing on what we are doing more. This is Will B saying, pass the remote!
