Barrington Brings a New Choice for Insurance to Olney

Barrington Farmers Insurance is the newest business to move to Olney. The Olney Chamber recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome its latest member to the Chamber and Olney.

Dirk Barrington is the owner-operator of Barrington Farmers Insurance, which has two agents and an administrative assistant to aid Barrington in his new venture. Barrington said he had previously obtained his license after thinking about opening an agency but decided to hold off for a bit. After finding a great price on a building in Olney, Barrington decided it was time to put his plan into action.

Barrington chose Olney as the site for his new business because this is where he decided to place his roots approximately eight years ago

“I moved around a lot when I was in the military and was happy to be able to provide roots for my family to grow,” Barrington said.

Seeing a need for quality insurance that’s affordable, Barrington specifically planned on opening an insurance company in Olney.

“Our goal is to try to help people save money but get a good quality product. As people come in, we give them quotes, and if other insurance groups can beat our prices down the road, then we will explain to the coverages to customers and give them the knowledge that they need to make a good decision. If they’re cheaper down the road and want it, we will send them down the road, but if it’s a matter of what you are getting for your money, we can show that to them,” Barrington explained. “We’re just trying to educate consumers on what insurance is Many people are unable to explain the insurance they have. They have insurance because they are required to have insurance but don’t really know about insurance.”
