Babygarten is Back at Olney Community Library and Arts Center
The Olney Community Library and Arts Center is offering programming for parents with babies, younger siblings or small children called Babygarten starting January 7, 2022.
Babygarten is for babies/children ages birth to 3-years-old. Parents or caregivers must accompany their babies and stay with them for the entire program.
Babygarten will meet every other Friday from 9:30am - 10:30/11:00am starting Friday, January 7 through Friday, April 22.
Babygarten is much more than a play group! Infants/small children and their caregivers will share nursery rhymes, songs and books but also get a chance to make fun crafts that demonstrate the child’s developmental milestones.
Many projects and activities will emphasize the importance of reading to babies, and parents will learn how to do this most effectively. This is also an opportunity for parents to share insight about infant development and parenting. The class concludes with a free play period.
The Babygarten dates are: Friday, January 7, Friday January 21, Friday, February 4, Friday, February 18, Friday, March 4, Friday, March 25, Friday, April 8, and Friday, April 22.
The first time together on Friday, January 7, we will read Wiggle Waggle by Jonathan London and Eat! by Roberta Grobel Intrater. We will sing fun songs, hear nursery rhymes and create a ringed group of song cards that are used during programing time for our craft, ending with playtime.
Parents/caregivers who are interested in participating should stop by the library to register or call us at 940-564-5513.
