COVID-19 has brought many difficult challenges, but for those of who are 70 years old and older, or are health compromised, there is a bit of good news.

There is a new treatment used for COVID-19 that has been introduced in the past 4-6 weeks called “bamlanivimab” which is being used for emergencies. It has been authorized by the Food and Drug administration and is an “Eli Lilly” based drug. My grandparents and my great-grandmother all tested positive for COVID-19 at the beginning of the year. They each received this new treatment once their results came back positive.

“It is a new treatment- given by IV infusion and it immediately blocks-and prevents Covid Pneumonia!!! Wichita Falls has been named a “Covid Hotspot” and this has only been available- 4-5 weeks for Wichita Falls,” my nana said.

This treatment can only be given to those who have tested positive for COVID-19 and for those who do not need to be in a hospital. This infusion should be administered within five days of a positive test. You should also be prescribed a Z Pack antibiotic immediately.

For those of you who are you reading this, take ANY and ALL symptoms seriously and get tested immediately. For anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 and is 70 years old and older, or is health compromised, please talk to your doctor about this medication. I thank The Lord that my grandparents have now all fully recovered from this deadly virus. My grandparents believe that this new treatment saved their lives. It could save yours too.
