National Sports
The sports world is starting to heat up as the NFL heads into the final month of the regular season, college football playoff rankings being released, and the NBA holding it’s draft as well as free agency.
The Dallas Cowboys got a much needed win against the Vikings after a heartbreaking loss to the Steelers two weeks ago. Andy Dalton returned at quarterback for the Cowboys and looked comfortable in the offense. Dallas is only one game behind in the lost column for the division lead as crazy as it sounds. I predict that Dallas will prevail and win the NFC East over the Eagles and the Giants. The Chiefs continue to find ways to win games and revenge their loss to the Raiders after Patrick Mahomes led his offense down the field in less than a minute, unsurprisingly. The Steelers remain undefeated led by a defend line that controls the line of scrimmage. I predict an AFC championship game between the Chiefs and the Steelers, with the Chiefs being too much for Pittsburgh, they will make the Super Bowl. However, the sleeper team in the AFC is the Indianapolis Colts.
As for the NFC, it is competitive at the top with teams like the Saints, Rams, Buccaneers, Seahawks, and Packers. If I had to guess, I would say that the Rams win the NFL behind a strong defense led by one of the most dominate defensive players in history, Aaron Donald. I predict a Chiefs vs Rams Super Bowl with the Chiefs repeating as champions this season. College football is ramping up as Texas and Iowa State will play each other Friday, Nov. 27. I predict that the Longhorns will defeat the Cyclones to continue to control their own destiny to the Big 12 title game.
The NBA season begins Dec. 22, just three weeks from now. The NBA saw one of the most unprecedented offseasons in history with trades that are so convoluted, they will make your head spin. The winner of the offseason is the Lakers, adding Montrez Harrell and Dennis Schroder to an already loaded squad. The Lakers will open up as massive favorites to start the season. Another thing that fans are wondering about is who James Harden will be playing for next season.
If I had to bet, I would say that Harden stays with the Rockets, but it will be interesting to see if he can force a trade to a title contending team such as the Philadelphia 76ers, or the Brooklyn Nets. If traded to Brooklyn, it would change the course of the NBA and in all likelihood lead to an inevitable Lakers vs Nets NBA Finals appearance.
