40th Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest Begins 10/14

Gather your ideas and pick out the perfect pumpkin! It is time for the 40th annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest at the Olney Community Library and Arts Center! There are 5 levels of competition ranging in ages preschool through adult. Pumpkins, gourds, and melons may be used. Entries can not be carved, cut or punctured in any way. Please name your entry and have a base (ex. cardboard) for it.

The competition starts Wednesday, Oct. 14 and ends Monday, Oct. 26. Entries may be brought to the library on any of those dates from 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. The best days for viewing will be Monday, Oct. 26 through Wednesday, Oct. 28. Judging of these entries will take place the evening of Monday, Oct.26. Results will be announced the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 28. All entries will need to be picked up by Friday, Oct. 30 or they will be thrown away. For questions call the library at 940- 564-5513 or stop by for a flyer with the complete rules.
