The Olney Chamber of Commerce 95th annual banquet returns Feb. 6

It’s time for the 95th Annual Chamber of Commerce banquet. The event will occur Thursday, Feb. 6, at the HDH Ranch and Rodeo Pavilion on Hwy 114 East in Olney. The doors will open at 6 p.m., starting with the silent auction. This event is not limited to Chamber members; everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Chamber awards.

The tickets are currently on sale and cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door. The advanced tickets are available for purchase at the Chamber’s office located at 108 E. Main Street. You may also request tickets via email:  Chamber@brazosnet.com.

Tables may be reserved for an additional fee. Call Stacy at the Chamber office for more information about reserving a table.

The silent auction begins at 6 p.m., and the proceeds will benefit the Chamber David H. Penn Memorial Scholarship fund awarded to Olney ISD Senior students who accumulate a minimum of 40 volunteer hours during high school. David Penn, the former owner and editor of Olney Enterprise and board member of the Olney Chamber of Commerce believed in the young people of Olney. He supported the youth in various ways, and his support continues after his death in 2000 through the David H. Penn Memorial Scholarship.

“Auction participants can help us honor David Penn’s legacy and support Olney students by donating a silent auction item, gift certificate or a monetary gift. You may bring all gifts to the Olney Chamber of Commerce Office at 108 E. Main, or you can give me a call to arrange a pickup,” Wade said.

Wade said sponsorship opportunities are still available. If you want your name listed as a sponsor, please complete the sponsorship form available at the Chamber office or call 940.564.5445.

“I am grateful to everyone for their support, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the banquet,” Wade said.
