Keep Olney Beautiful Outreach

Dear Proud Citizen,

We are fortunate to live in one of the best small towns in America. While many of us have roots that go back for generations, we are proud to welcome those who are new to town. Together we carry forward a rich history of people who are called to serve the community, and do so with enthusiasm and vigor. Keep Olney Beautiful aims to continue the legacy of our community through projects that directly benefit our town, and highlight our rich history and bright future.

Born out of the Junior Altruistic Club, Keep Olney Beautiful organized with the realization of a need for improvements in our community. Starting first as a subcommittee of its parent organization, KOB included people from all walks of life. In 2013, Keep Olney Beautiful was officially awarded its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Keep Olney Beautiful now celebrates its 10th Anniversary of service to the community and invites you to celebrate all of the work done to improve the quality of life in town. We thank everyone who have donated money, labor, and their time to work with and for the organization.

Keep Olney Beautiful looks forward to utilizing the Rural Communities Grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. This grant, awarded in 2018, will reimburse $75,000 of a planned $190,000 investment by the organization to renovate Tom Griffin Park. We will be tearing out all of the old equipment, installing a new playground structure, swing set, benches, grills, and shades throughout the park area. We even plan to make some improvements to the basketball courts. The committee’s vision is to create a fun, family friendly place for all Olney citizens to be proud of and enjoy. The project completion date is scheduled for the summer of 2020.

Olney is unique in the way the community binds together to make life better for each other, which never ceases to impress all those who visit. Keep Olney Beautiful is grateful for the support we receive from so many throughout Olney and beyond. As a board, we commit our time and energy to continue searching for ideas to better our community and see these same ideas come to fruition all over Olney.

On behalf of Keep Olney Beautiful, we appreciate your ongoing support and welcome your feedback or ideas. If you wish to contribute, please send your tax-deductible donations to Keep Olney Beautiful, P.O. Box 501 Olney, TX 76374.

Sincerely,

Rue Rogers, President
