National Library Week begins with Mayor Rogers’ proclamation

National Library Week was jumpstarted with Mayor Rogers’ proclamation at the City Council meeting Monday, March 22. This year, National Library Week begins April 4 and will continue through April 10. The 2021 theme is “Welcome to your library,” which promotes the concept that libraries extend far beyond the four walls of a building and that everyone is welcome to use their services, as stated in the Mayor’s proclamation.
Olney PD responds and assists in high-speed 18-wheeler chase

There was a high-speed chase involving the driver of an 18-wheeler truck Friday, March 19. The driver refused to stop and sped down Highway 114 at approximately 90 to 100 mph, said Olney Police Chief Dan Birbeck.
