Former Aubrey Police Chief Selected to Lead Olney Police Department
After an extensive and months-long search, the Olney City Council has selected Bryan Barrett as the city’s new police chief. Chief Barrett officially stepped into the role on Monday, Nov. 17, bringing with him more than 28 years of law enforcement experience and a passion for “making things better.”
Olney Police Taking Donations for Pet Food Pantry
The City of Olney has established a new pet food pantry at the Olney Police Department after Animal Control Officer Holly Robertson reported a sharp increase in the number of residents struggling to feed their pets.
Chamber Celebrates 100th Banquet
The Olney Chamber of Commerce celebrated a milestone a century in the making on Thursday evening, hosting its 100th annual banquet at the Durango Rustic Retreat before one of the largest crowds in recent memory. Chamber Director Kimberly Smith and the Chamber board marked the occasion with an elegant tribute to Ol- ney’s past, placing framed photographs and newspaper articles chronicling a century of Chamber achievements at every table. Mrs. Smith said attendance was so strong this year that she had to bring in extra tables. The event was once again catered by Dos Leones of Graham, whose family-style service kept the atmosphere festive as community leaders circulated from table to table, visiting, laughing, and placing bids on silent auction items.

Council Tables Approval of 2022 Audit The Olney City Council voted Nov. 10 to table approval of the city’s 2022 audit until auditor CPA David Parkman can appear in person to answer questions.
