PALO PINTO, Texas – Texas A&M Forest Service hosted the third annual Sisters in Fire event Sept. 30 at Worth Ranch, a Longhorn Council BSA property. Thirty-five young women between the ages of 13 and 18 from 22 Texas counties and one Oklahoma county attended the event.

Daily consumption of pecans have been shown to prevent obesity and a host of related health issues like fatty liver disease and diabetes, according to a collaborative study by Texas A&M AgriLife scientists.
Hinson, Spears reappointed to YCAD, OHA boards

The Olney City Council reappointed Sanford Heard and Valerie Stroud to the Olney Housing Authority Board of Directors, and reappointed Kyle Hinson to the Young County Appraisal District Board. Mr. Heard and Ms. Stroud were unanimously approved by the Council for new two-year terms.
