Young County Commissioner will not run for re-election

Young County Commissioner Precinct 3 Stacey K. Rogers has announced today he will not run for re-election for a fifth term.

“As the only true conservative republican on commissioners court, I have decided not to continue as your commissioner for Precinct 3. My road and bridge budgets have always reflected restraints on spending for needs versus wants. Most departments in this county government have failed to do so,” Rogers said. “Keeping taxes low, smaller government and limiting risks on the county are priorities for me, which are being compromised by the current members of commissioners court. I have put this position first since elected and now I will include my family and other interest as first.” Rogers concludes.

This is more than just a job and the next commissioner will need to be available all days and work alongside the road and bridge employees on a daily basis just as Rogers. The next commissioner should be currently involved within this precinct, formal business training and a work ethic to continue his road maintenance program.

Commissioner Rogers will remain as your Young County Commissioner Precinct 3 until Dec. 31, 2024. For more information, Commissioner Rogers may be reached at 940-564-0124.
