Upscale dining comes to Olney
The owners of the popular Hometown Coffee & Tea in Olney branched out with a new upscale restaurant and bar, Hudson’s on Main, right next door on East Main Street.
Dustin Hudson, known to locals as Sergeant Hudson of the Olney Police Department, is a man with many talents including a flare for gourmet cooking.
Sgt. Hudson said he has always enjoyed cooking and taking it to the next level with higher-end dishes.
“I am a self-proclaimed foodie and cooking has always been a dream and a passion of mine,” he said. “When I purchased Hometown Coffee & Tea it came with an option to purchase the space next door. We decided to jump on the idea of a new restaurant.”
The brick-walled restaurant features multiple televisions tuned to sports and a full-service bar where patrons can select from an extensive menu of appetizers such as fried pickles, fried mushrooms, shrimp cocktail and bacon wrapped scallops.
The menu features five cuts of steak, the house specialty, but also includes fish and pork specials, grilled chicken and grilled shrimp, pasta and a huge dinner salad. There is a kid’s menu and a selection of veggie sides that can make a vegetarian meal, and dessert selections such as cheesecake.
The bar menu offers draft and bottled beer, multiple brands of spirits, mixed drinks, and a good selection of wines and bubbly.
The new restaurant offers a plenty of reasonably priced options for a family night out and gourmet selection for a fancy date night. There is something for everyone.
Hudson’s on Main, located at 119 E Main St. in Olney, is open for dinner only from 5 p.m. to midnight, Thursday through Saturday.
