SOUPer Bowl at Senior Cub Center, Feb. 13
The Senior Cub Center’s annual Souper Bowl Stew Lunch Fundraiser will be this upcoming Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Senior Cub Center located at 302 S. Avenue B, down the street from Griffin Park in Olney. The Center will serve and deliver hot stew from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. You may dine-in or carry out. Either way, you will make it home in time for the Superbowl game (Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Rams). The tickets cost $7, and you may purchase tickets in advance or at the door Feb. 13. The staff welcomes everyone, including individuals, families and church groups.
The stew lunch includes homemade stew with fresh vegetables, cornbread, and a peach cobbler for dessert.
All proceeds benefit the Olney Senior Cub Center programs, and the Center has supported Olney’s senior citizens since 1982. The organization is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, and the donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
The Center serves nearly 100 meals on and off-site on weekdays, partnering with the Texas Department of aging for the home deliveries.
The Center’s Executive Director, Angela Lockard, said they are looking forward to a tremendous turnout this year.
“We appreciate your support of this annual fundraiser. In addition, we are thankful for everyone who has stepped up to volunteer this year, such as the House of Mercy will help with food service,” Lockard said.
