Scruffy ta Fluffy Pet Grooming has been in Olney since 2011 and offers a variety of pet grooming services.

“One of the reasons we moved back down here was to become the new owners of my aunt’s pet grooming business. We wanted to get out of the big city—Fort Wayne, Indiana, with approximately 500,000 people and a high crime rate. I learned that my aunt was selling her pet grooming business, and she agreed to sell it to me,” said Mullins, who has been running the business since 2018.

Learning the pet grooming business—a business he knew nothing about—challenged him but turned out to be a rewarding venture that he has grown to love.

“Our lives are always so hectic and busy. Although I am busy grooming pets all day, I have time to reflect on things and get my head straight. Pet grooming gives me a little peace throughout the day,” Mullins shared. “And dogs can get just as frustrated as humans, but for the most part, they are all very loving and gentle; so, grooming helps me reach a point where I am happy when I get off work.”

Mullins said he has managed to stay busy even during COVID with pet grooming businesses listed as essential services.

“Luckily, when everything shut down during COVID, I did get to stay open, and that was a blessing. Things have been going well for us. We are staying busy,” Mullins said.

Scruffy ta Fluffy offers comprehensive grooming services that include detanglers, conditioners, nail trimming and a sanitary trim.

“When the dogs come in, I put them on the table and do the sanitary trim on all dogs that come in. The sanitary trim is a trim of the hair on the pads of their feet, butt and belly. I cut all those areas short to keep everything sanitary,” Mullins explained.

The prices at Scruffy ta Fluffy are reasonable compared to the costs of other groomers in surrounding areas. Mullins said his prices are on a dog-by-dog basis. Call for pricing.
