Each candidate will spend approximately three to five minutes discussing relevant issues and what they are committed to while in office. Lane Burgess, Young County Precinct 3 chair said, “ It is important for voters and supporters to attend this meeting to meet the men and women running on the 2020 Young County Republican Primary Ballot.”
The Republican Party candidates listed on the March 3 Republican Primary ballot includes: U.S. Representative District 19: Vance W. Boyd and Jodey C. Arrington; State Representative District 68: Drew Springer; County Attorney: Christopher D. Baran; Sheriff: Travis Babcock, Tim Bay and Charlie Parker; County Tax Assessor-Collector: Stephanie Crail and Christy Centers; County Commissioner Precinct 1: Stacy Creswell and Mike Sipes; County Commissioner Precinct 3: Stacey K. Rogers and Scott (Scooter) Philipp; County Constable Precinct 1: Tommy Martin; County Constable Precinct 3: Cliff Blackstock.
Burgess encourages everyone to attend the meet and greet on Feb. 3. “Regardless of your political affiliations, you should be active and attend the meeting to meet the people who will be elected to represent the county. Although Olney has a strong conservative voter base, voters need to participate in the elections process and allow their voices to be heard,” Burgess said.
The Young County Republicans plan to hold their regular upcoming monthly meetings in Olney and Graham throughout the year to get more participation.
