The Refuge Gives Thanks for Unforgettable Summer
Each summer at the Refuge is different, and this summer was no exception.
God graciously strengthens us through the very students He providentially brings to The Refuge. He knows our weaknesses and the areas where we need to grow, and He faithfully uses the children and families we serve to shape us in ways we never expect.
Monday through Friday, The Refuge was filled with noise, laughter, learning, and daily devotionals as we worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ together through music.
It was a summer that we will never forget. Looking into the eyes of these students each day was a tremendous privilege. Whether we were doing enrichment activities, playing games, jumping in the bounce house, building with Legos, or simply spending time together, every moment became an opportunity to build lasting relationships and share the hope of the cross of Jesus Christ. Those moments are some of the greatest blessings of serving at The Refuge.
We are incredibly thankful for our community, the volunteers who faithfully give their time, our generous donors, our church family, and everyone who faithfully prays for this ministry. The Refuge simply would not be possible without their love and support. We are deeply grateful for God’s provision in supplying meals for the children throughout the summer.
While we are thankful for the number of meals served, our greatest joy is not found in the statistics. It is found in the opportunity to love these children, encourage their families, and point them to the hope that is found in Christ. Every summer reminds us that God’s faithfulness is greater than we could have imagined.
