DEVOTIONAL “For as many as are the promises of God, in Him

“For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”

2 Corinthians 1:20 NASBS

How gracious the Lord, who from the very foundations of the world had written our names down in the eternal book of heaven. For He is sovereign and holy and when our first parents Adam and Eve sinned, the Lord immediately met them with a sacrificial covering and with a divine promise. His promise to them and for all who believe is that the seed of a woman, His eternal son, would bruise the serpents head, the one who deceived them. It was on this promise that our first parents rested and it is on this promise that we find eternal hope. Christian, our hope is nothing less than in Jesus Christ who is our righteousness. For it was Jesus Christ who descended from His eternal throne and took upon Himself flesh. How glorious did the truth of God shine in the person of Jesus Christ, the Babe of Bethlehem, as he laid in a manger amongst the beast of the field. He grew in stature as He walked upon the dust of this earth, God in the flesh, whose destiny was to be the sacrificial lamb to be slaughtered upon the cross for the sins of the world. Without flinching, He fixed His face towards Jerusalem with the names of those who He would save written upon His heart. He suffered the blows in the agony of death by the hatred of His own creation and descended into the grave. Oh, doubting and fearful hearts, as the waves of temptation roll over you and uncertainty floods your mind, with the eyes on your heart, stretch out your hand and touch the wounds on His body, for He is alive for ever more and has saved you with an everlasting love. As the scriptures tell us beloved, “For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore through Him also is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”
