Pizza delivery returns to Olney

Olney’s newest restaurant, Papa Ed’s Pizza, brings pizza delivery back to town along with a dine-in option and a selection of specialty items like wings, cheesy bread and garlic nodes. Papa Ed’s Pizza is the second restaurant opened in Olney by Becky and Ed Callison, joining their successful Cub Country Café. The new establishment is in the building connected to the Cub Country Cafe at 1128 W. Main St.

“We were doing well with the restaurant (Cub Country Café) and we seem to have a lot of requests for pizza and for delivery,” Mr. Callison said. “I’ve had four pizza places in the past and I decided it would be a good thing to put in this little building here.” Mr. Callison says everything is made with fresh ingredients and that it is a standard he does not compromise on. Papa Ed’s is still looking for delivery drivers if anyone is looking for some extra cash, Mr. Callison said.

Clint’s Convenience Store located at 311 E. Main St. in Olney say they will continue making pizza even though there was a rumor started on Facebook that they no longer serve pizza. The recent closing of Lonestar Pizza, a beloved Olney pizza spot, left a hole to fill in that category of cuisine.

Papa Ed’s Pizza is open for pick-up or delivery: Tuesday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11a.m. to 3 p.m. and is closed on Monday. Becky Callison said the restaurant’s hours could increase as Papa Ed’s hires more workers.
