




Olney Volunteer Fire Department Banquet
The Olney Volunteer Fire Department held their 2020 banquet on Feb. 20, 2020. The evening began with honoring a few guests in attendance, followed by a chicken fried steak dinner. Gunter Rodriguez was the host on the night, announcing prizes awarded to some lucky winners in attendance with special thanks to many businesses in Olney and around the area.
All officers were honored, including Chief Clint Pulliam, Assistant Chief Kenley Lane, Assistant Chief Donald Ickert, Captain Rocky Hickam, Captain Mario Cortinez, Lieutenant Kade Betts, Lieutenant Justin Calhoun, President John Schneider, Vice President Spencer Cox, Secretary, Matthew Ickert, Chaplain Gunter Rodriguez, and Mascot Luke Lane. All firefighters were also honored—Len Bernhardt, Kade Betts, Justin Calhoun, Mario Cortinez, Spencer Cox, Cody Dixon, Jake Englishbee, Hunter Enloe, Jeff Harvey, Rocky Hickam, Donald Ickert, Matthew Ickert, Casey Keeter, Kenley Lane, Homer Molina, Jason Pack, Trampas Patton, Bryon Piercy, Clint Pulliam, Jerry Don Riggins, Johnny Riggins, Gunter Rodriguez, John Schneider, Teddy Scobee, Jimmy Smith, Danny Speers, and Kevin Sullivan. After dinner and in between prizes, awards were given out for fireman of the year and the Medal of Honor. Clint Pulliam presented both awards with fireman of the year being awarded to Rocky Hickam and the Medal of Honor being awarded to Kana Keeter, as well as the honorary memorial plaque of the late Chief Ron Keeter to close out the night. “You saved me Lord, My sins you forgave, I’m risking my own life, That another is saved….You gave me this life, With a request quite small, You said “Love Thy Neighbor” So I answer The Call. “
