Olney Polling Place Moves For November Election
Olney-area voters will have a new place to cast their ballots in the Nov. 3 general election.
The Fort Belknap Electric Co-op, 1302 W. Main St., will serve as Olney’s polling location for both early voting and Election Day, replacing the Olney Community Library and Arts Center and the Olney Civic Center, where local voters have been accustomed to voting.
Young County election officials are urging voters to make note of the change before heading to the polls. The deadline for registering to vote in the Nov. 3 election is Oct. 5.
Early voting begins Monday, Oct. 19, and continues through Friday, Oct. 30. The dates correspond with the statewide early- voting period established for the Nov. 3 election.
According to information provided by the Young County Elections Office, early voting hours at the Olney location are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 19-23; 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25; and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 26-30.
Young County’s other early voting location will be the Courthouse Annex, 417 Second St. in Graham.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Fort Belknap Electric Co-op will also serve as Olney’s Election Day polling location. State law sets Election Day voting hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters should also keep two approaching deadlines in mind. Monday, Oct. 5, is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election, and Friday, Oct. 23, is the deadline for the early voting clerk to receive applications for ballots by mail.
Questions about the polling-place change or other election matters may be directed to the Young County Elections Office at 940-521-9483.
The Enterprise is publishing the ballot in next week’s edition so voters can familiarize themselves with the races and candidates before early voting begins.
