Olney Man Jailed in Alleged Assault at House Party
A 35-year-old Megargel man was arrested June 9 in connection with a stabbing that occurred during a party on West Cherry Street the previous night, according to the Olney Police Department.
Frank Galvin was taken into custody by officers with the Archer County Sheriff ’s Office and Olney Police after a 32-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds. The two men had allegedly gotten into an altercation over a woman, which escalated outside the residence, according to the arrest affidavit filed by Olney Police.
The victim, whose name has not been released, reportedly drove himself to Olney Hamilton Hospital with multiple stab wounds. Emergency room personnel contacted police after evaluating the injuries, which were determined not to be life-threatening.
Olney Police Detective Autumn Thames said partygoers were unaware that the stabbing had occurred, as the confrontation happened outside the residence. The victim told police that no one inside realized he had been injured.
Mr. Galvin was located the following day in Megargel and arrested without incident. He is being held at the Archer County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. His bond was set at $200,000.
