Olney Kids Take Star Turns in ‘Matilda’

The Graham Regional Theater put on a magical and entertaining performance of Matilda. Matilda, played in separate performances by Olney students Jessa Branum and Emerald Edgington, is a young school-aged girl who escapes an abusive family life through her highly active imagination, stories and a little bit of magic.

Going to school was no relief either and with the help of her school friends and a loving teacher, Miss Honey, she overcomes the oppressive rule of the school’s administrator Agath Trunchbull, played by Summer Branum, who lives to create strife every chance she gets for the students and teacher.

In the end, Matilda goes to live with Miss Honey and the two live a loving and happy-ever-after-life. The cast, crew and production team put on a believable and very entertaining production.

Bravo!
