Olney ISD School Board meeting update
Members present were Dirk Barrington, Kenley Lane, Jake Bailey, Jeff Harvey, Len Bernhardt, and Theresa McClatchy. Kyle Hinson was absent.
Jake Bailey announced a quorum at 6:02p.m.
Motion was made by Jeff Harvey, seconded by Dirk Barrington, to approve minutes of the June 10th, 2019 board meeting. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Jeff Harvey, seconded by Dirk Barrington, to approve minutes of the June 24th, 2019 board meeting. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Kenley Lane, to approve financial statements as presented. All voted AYE.
Items discussed included High School Construction, 2018-19 Texas Honor Roll Olney Elementary, Employee Handbook, and Campus Handbook.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Theresa McClatchy to accept Preliminary budget of $8,984,520.00 for the 2019-2020 school year. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Dirk Barrington for the Preliminary Tax of Rates of 1.0684 M&O and 0.19 I&S. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Theresa McClatchy for Extension of Bank Depository Contract for Funds with Olney Interbank. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Theresa McClatchy for the appointment of Superintendent to be three -year library board term. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Kenley Lane to accept Big 4 SSA Management Board Meeting Minutes for June 26th, 2019.
Motion was made by Dirk Barrington, seconded by Len Bernhardt, to appoint Theresa McClatchy TASB Delegate and Kenley Lane as alternate. All Voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Theresa McClatchy to approve endorsement of Mark Lukert to the TASB board of directors. All voted AYE.
Action on a Risk Manager provider for 2019-20 was tabled.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Kenley Lane, to adopt Board Policy Update 113 as presented. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Kenley Lane to authorize Tim Orsak to conduct all OISD financial transactions in respect to all checking and investments accounts with Interbank and open any deposit or share account (s) in the name of Olney ISD. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Kenley Lane, to authorize Tim Orsak to conduct all OISD Financial transactions in respect to Olney ISD investments and investment accounts and open any deposit or share account (s) in the name of Olney ISD.
Motion was made by Kenley Lane, seconded by Len Bernhardt for the following people to sign district checks: Jake Bailey, Jeff Harvey, Greg Roach, and Tim Orsak. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Kenley Lane to approve professional contracts for Kathy Harper and Marnie Spillers as recommended. All voted AYE.
Motion was made by Len Bernhardt, seconded by Theresa McClatchy for Superintendent to have hiring authority until August 26th 2019. All voted AYE.
