Olney ISD hires Kelli Cobb as the new SRO Officer

Kelli Cobb has been a resident of Olney, Texas for the past 28 years. She is married to Ronnie Cobb who is the vice president of Cemco Inc. Ronnie and Kelli have a son named Kaleb who is an EMT. Recently, Kelli was offered the position of security for Olney ISD and accepted the position.

Kelli is currently a reserve police officer in Albany, Texas where she has been for almost two years now. “I have been with Albany Police Dept. since Aug. 2018 after graduating Vernon college Police Academy in June of 2018,” Kelli said. “I have enjoyed serving the City of Albany in this time and still continue to serve as a reserve there. I also know that [as] a citizen of Olney, I wanted to give back to the community I live in.” Kelli added.

Kelli had been told by several Olney ISD employees that the job was currently open, so she decided to apply and was offered the position. “I prayed for God to show me where he needed me to serve and Olney was my clear answer. Prior to becoming a police officer, I worked for Olney ISD as an assistant teacher. I worked for Olney H.O.P.E Inc as an assistant director from 2005 until they closed the doors in 2015. I also taught in the classrooms at H.O.P.E.,” Kelli stated.

Kelli will begin the position in August of 2020 and is looking forward to all the position has to offer. “I look forward to being part of Olney ISD in the upcoming new school year [while] keeping the students and staff safe and building relationships between myself and Olney Police Dept. I believe my relationship with Olney PD is vital to working together to keep our schools safe.”
