Olney High School OAP moves on to UIL

After a stellar performance by the Olney ISD One Act Play (OAP) troupe on Tuesday March 3, they will advance in the UIL Competition.

Olney High School chose the play “The Cover of Life” by: R.T. Robinson. The play is about the wives of three soldiers who are brothers that all enlist in various branches of the military at the same time. The wives move in together at the residence of the mother of the three brothers in the year of 1943 to save on expenses and moral support.

The wives attract the attention of a local news woman whose intern attracts the attention of a news lady from Life Magazine who travels to Louisiana to cover the story of the three wives and mother. After viewing the play, I was left speechless by the magnificent performance put on by this young group of men and woman and could clearly understand the judges’ decision to advance Olney High School’s troupe in the UIL competition.
