Olney Chamber: Quarterly Luncheon

Olney Chamber: Quarterly Luncheon

On June 8, the Olney Chamber of Commerce held their quarterly luncheon. The topic for this meeting was marketing, specifically focusing on social media marketing. Speakers present were Billie Mullins with Brazos Communications, Laura Fortner, owner of Cub Nutrition, and Lacey Bullock with LB Business Services.

Deidre Choat, Olney Chamber of Commerce Director, said the speakers were at the quarterly luncheon to discuss marketing strategy. The luncheon was held in the meeting room of the Sassy Heifer Land & Cattle Co., a local Olney restaurant located at 1128 W. Main St. in Olney. Enchilada plates were served to the many chamber members present.

Choat said, “The meeting is held for members for good conversation and a chance to network with other business owners. We are glad to have everyone here.” Billie Mullins of Brazos Communications also spoke at the luncheon saying, “I am here to talk about how marketing is such a dynamic institution. By dynamic I mean it is ever-changing and we have to constantly evolve and change with it.” Mullins says marketing through social media is a great way to connect with consumers on a more intimate level. All three guest speakers had detailed PowerPoint presentations and spoke about 20 minutes each. After the presentations, chamber members socialized and networked before heading back to their businesses.
