Olney Chamber Hosts Quarterly Luncheon

The Olney Chamber of Commerce [OCC] recently hosted their quarterly luncheon at the First Methodist Church of Olney, courtesy of Pastor Harrell Braddock. Attendees enjoyed pizza and salad from Papa Ed’s Pizza, sponsored by the meeting’s title sponsor, Johnny Moore Insurance in Olney.

Deidre Brown, director of the OCC said this luncheon was about spotlighting local non-profits and included six speakers who are noted in the photo caption. After attendees enjoyed lunch, each of the speakers introduced themselves and described what their nonprofits are all about.

Preston Crow, director of the House of Mercy, summed up what all of the speakers present expressed as the most needed assistance: monetary donations. Crow said with this type of donation, House of Mercy can funnel the funds to where help is needed most. The House of Mercy helps addicts in recovery through the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Ms. Brown said the next OCC event will be the Annual Chamber Banquet on Jan. 19. Chamber members and non-Chamber attendees may purchase individual tickets or an entire table for the evening’s festivities, which include an award ceremony recognizing various members for their achievements for the past year. For more information on Chamber events please visit the Chamber Facebook page or the Olney City website: cityofolneytx. com. Ms. Brown wished to convey her appreciation to all the guest speakers, including Harrell and Carol Braddock and the title sponsor Johnny Moore Insurance.
