Olney Chamber and K.O.B. host booth at Crawfish & Cannons
Saturday April 10, Fort Belknap held its annual Crawfish and Cannons event.---many look forward to this event each year. This year, the Olney Chamber of Commerce and Keep Olney Beautiful teamed up to run a booth selling drinks. Also from Olney--Archer & Gunn Mercantile set up a booth selling their unique wares.
Some of the events the crowds enjoyed included: armadillo races, music featured by Shane Smith and the Saints, cannon firing on the hour, the Goodnight-Loving Marathon, and plenty of crawfish.
Fort Belknap’s Director Jim Hammond had this to say about the event, “It was the smoothest event we have had. That goes to the effort of the sponsors and the volunteers. Weather was great and the performances by Jaytin Sims and Shane Smith & the Saints was perfect. We had over 1,300 in ticket sales, and the vast majority of those were introduced to Fort Belknap for the first time - which is my focus - to educate people on the phenomenal history of the fort and Young County. Adding the Goodnight-Loving Run this year proved to be an added benefit for the event. I am humbled by the outpouring of support and participation for Crawfish & Cannons. We are already making plans for next year!”
