OJHS places 2nd at TMSCA
The Olney Junior High TMSCA participants competed in their first meet of the year on Nov. 9 and placed second overall with a total of 2,681 points.
The science team placed first overall with 465 points. Team members were eighth grader Harris Sullivan and seventh graders Kate Santibanez, Laney Kimbro, and Clara Symank.
Eighth graders who competed in science were Sullivan, third; Odin Savard, sixth; Ryan Brasher, ninth; Wesley Symank, 13th; Grace Jeske, 14th; and Pedro Gonzalez, 15th.
Seventh graders who competed were Santibanez, first; Kimbro, second; Clara Symank, fourth; Miles Branum, fifth; Ella Richards, sixth; Jaxon Bedford, eighth; Trent Berngen, ninth; Zeph Tejada, 11th; Libby Lane, 13th; Emerald Edgington, 15th; Zayden Adkins, 21st; Markel Long, 22nd; and Trey Geter, 25th.
Sixth graders who competed were Clayton Guthrie, 13th; Wyatt Stephens, 16th; Janie Sykora and Denalee Wales, who tied for 17th; Elaina Ray, 22th; Christopher McElroy, 29th; Jackson Dinwiddie, 30th; Isabella Rodriguez Araujo, 32nd; Harper Watson, 33rd; Caroline Stewart, 41st; Paxton Pittman, 44th; and Carleigh Symank, 45th.
The number sense team placed second and had 289 points. The team was composed of seventh grader Tejada and eighth graders Sullivan, Brasher, and Savard.

Seventh graders who competed were Tejada, first; Berngen, sixth; Geter, 10th; Adkins, 15th; Lane, 16th; Leigha Hampton, 18th; Clara Symank, 19th; Branum, 21st; and Richards, 30th.
Sixth graders who competed were Dinwiddie, sixth; Guthrie and Wales, who tied for 17th place; Stephens, 19th; Isabella Rodriguez Araujo, 23rd; and McElroy, 27th.
Olney placed second in calculator with 858.21 points. The team was made up of eighth grader Sullivan, and seventh graders Tejada, Bedford, and Clara Symank.

Seventh graders who competed were Tejada, second; Bedford, sixth; Clara Symank, eighth; Hampton, 10th; Lane, 11th; Santibanez, 16th; Kimbro, 19th; Long, 26th; Edgington, 30th; Branum, 31st; and Richards, 35th.
Sixth graders who competed were Wales, third; Dinwiddie, 16th; Stephens, 20th; Paxton Pittman, 23rd; Ray, 24th; Watson, 27th; Carleigh Symank, 28th; and Sykora, 31st.
Olney also placed second in math with 494 points. Seventh graders Tejada and Trent Berngen and eighth graders Sullivan and Savard made up the team.
