
OJH TMSCA Wins State Contest Again
They did it again! Olney Junior High’s TMSCA students are back-toback State Champions!
Twenty-five students loaded the bus last Thursday afternoon to journey to San Antonio. The team enjoyed a trip to SeaWorld on Friday and studied on Friday evening before competing on Saturday. They were joined by over three thousand of Texas’s brightest and best sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students.
OJH took first place in the Sweepstakes match, earning 2667.1 points, besting Ozona, Lindsay, Garden City, Seymour, and twelve other 1A/2A teams from across Texas. Contest awards follow: Number Sense: 2nd place team 8th grade - Zeph Tejada 1st, Trent Berngen 4th 7th grade - Denalee Wales 3rd, Wyatt Stephens 4th, & Jackson Dinwiddie 10th 6th grade - Magnolia Caffey 4th, Rylan Keeter 5th, Caroline Jeske 10th Calculator Applications: 1st place team 8th grade - Zeph Tejada 1st, Laney Kimbro 4th, Leigha Hampton 5th, Jaxon Bedford 8th, 7th grade - Denalee Wales 1st, Wyatt Stephens 3rd 6th grade - Harper Bitner 3rd, Rylan Keeter 15th, Caroline Jeske 18th Mathematics: 1st place team 8th grade- Zeph Tejada 2nd, Trent Berngen 3rd, Jaxon Bedford 11th, 7th grade- Denalee Wales 2nd, Jackson Dinwiddie 6th, Wyatt Stephens 11th 6th grade- Rylan Keeter 2nd, Caroline Jeske 16th, Harper Bitner 19th Science: 2nd place team 8th grade - Kate Santibanez 2nd, Miles Branum 6th, Clara Symank 8th, Zeph Tejada 14th, Laney Kimbro 15th 7th grade - Jacob Horner 8th, Denalee Wales 18th, Caroline Stewart 19th 6th grade - Jack Wells 2nd, Jessa Branum 5th, McKinlee Williams 7th, Rylan Keeter 15th.
The team is coached by Mrs. Diane Hubbard, Dr. Greg Roach and Ms. Rhonda Jeske-Geter.
